Assumption Parish students can receive scholarships to attend STEM summer camps

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Assumption Parish Schools partnered with Region 3 Bayou STEM coordinators to offer students scholarships to attend the Bayou STEM Fest.

Scholarship recipients will pay a small fee to attend the NASA Astro Camp or the Shell Energy Camp this summer.

The NASA Astro Camp, which will take place July 12 through July 16, includes several age-appropriate educational events for students aiming to become innovators and engineers. Age groups include kindergarten to second grade; third grade through sixth grade; and seventh grade through 12th grade. Registration is $200, but scholarships are available.

The Shell Energy Camp will take place from July 19 through July 23. It’s designed to teach participants about energy careers and energy sources in a fun way. This camp is for students ages 7 to 12. Registration is also $200, and scholarships are available.
