ASSUMPTION PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) – A Belle Rose man is behind bars after leading deputies in a police chase that ended in Gonzales.
Keifer Andrew Jones was arrested on multiple felony charges after committing a traffic violation on LA 308 and driving away on Tuesday, Sept. 19. The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office said the chase went into Donaldsonville in Ascension Parish before ending near the LA 44/ I-10 exit in Gonzales.
Jones fled on foot but was later captured. The sheriff’s office said a K-9 sniffed the vehicle and deputies seized hydrocodone. Jones was taken to a Gonzales hospital and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center.
He was charged with aggravated flight from an officer, possession of hydrocodone, resisting an officer, driver must be licensed, speeding, simple obstruction of highway of commerce, and intentional littering prohibited. He was also charged with failure to appear in court on speeding and license charges.
