PLATTENVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) — An investigation into illegal drug trafficking led to the arrest of Trent Peter Simoneaux, 31, of Napoleonville. During the course of the investigation, narcotics agents concluded that the Napoleonville man was “distributing drugs to the Assumption Parish area,” according to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office.

With a search warrant in hand, agents looked through a home in the 5700 block of Highway 1.

Members of law enforcement found Simoneaux, assorted drugs and a gun. Along with the weapon, the other items that were seized included methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Simoneaux was subsequently arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 31 and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center.

He was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, illegal carrying of weapons in the presence of controlled dangerous substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Napoleonville man is awaiting a bond hearing.
