BAYOU L’OURSE, La. (BRPROUD) — A man accused of a deadly shooting in July was formally charged with second-degree murder Wednesday.
Joseph Gilchrist, 52, of Bayou L’Ourse was arrested on July 2 after fatally shooting Antanacio Guerrero, 40, of Bayou L’Ourse. According to deputies, Gilchrist shot at Guerrero in front of other people at a home.
Gilchrist was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center. He remains in jail on a $500,000 bond.
His next court appearance is an arraignment on Nov. 13.
