Baker donation drive to help LaPlace residents ends Friday

BAKER, La (BRPROUD) – The city of Baker is holding a donation drive to help the residents of LaPlace, La who are still recovering from Hurricane Ida.

The donation drive began on Monday, Nov. 8 and ends this Friday. The items that are needed for donations are listed below.

Items needed:

  • Warm clothing for men, women and children
  • Pillows
  • Sleeping bags
  • Non-perishable food items
  • Children’s clothes
  • Children’s toys
  • Women and men’s toiletries
  • Paper towels
  • Tissues
  • Blankets
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Toilet paper
  • Work gloves

There are two drop-off locations. The first location is at the Baker High auditorium parking lot. The second location is at the New Jersey Worship Center located at 2020 Main Street.

The items will be dropped off to LaPlace on Saturday, Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
