BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Companion Animal Alliance is set to launch six new summer camp options for children interested in animals.
In the past, CAA only offered two summer camps, Camp Luv-A-Pet and Camp Unleashed, which were for children ages 6-11 years old who are interested in animals, sheltering, and animal welfare, according to the organization. Now, CAA is adding six more camp options, to have a total of eight summer camps.
“We’re so excited to see the smiles on our camper’s faces this summer. After last year, we knew that the demand for more camps was there, and we ran with it. With eight camp options, we are hopeful that everyone who wants to participate will have a spot waiting for them,” said Emily Lemoine, CAA director of grants and communications. “From learning how to safely interact with cats and dogs, to hanging out with exotic animals or livestock, this is a unique option for children to occupy their time this summer.”
Dates range from May through July, Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit the Companion Animal Alliance website for registration or for more information.
