Some local Baton Rouge pastors are stepping away from the pulpit and out into the community. That is what they say will take to stop Baton Rouge’s violence.
Pastors within the Glen Oaks community are coming together Thursday night, July 25th at 6:30 p.m. for a community town hall meeting to develop an action plan to combat violence.
The event will be held at Antioch Baptist Church at 6538 Mickens Road., Baton Rouge, LA 70811.

Recent rimes, homicide and gun violence will be a topic of discussion.

Organizers say this is a community lead town hall instead of one lead by city officials. Their aim is to draw those in the community out to tackle ways to put an end to violence.
