BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – June is National Cancer Survivor Month.
Hematology Oncology Clinic at the Pennington Cancer Center is inviting everyone to attend the National Cancer Survivor Celebration event at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 4 at St. Joseph Cathedral.
The event will end at 6 p.m. and will be followed by a light reception.
Louisiana Gospel Psalmists will perform uplifting hymns while religious leaders from the community offer words of prayer and inspiration. Cancer survivors will also share stories of their journey.
“We’ve come such a long way in cancer care in the last 30 years and we want to celebrate those who have conquered this insidious disease,” said Dr. Gerald Miletello from the Hematology-Oncology Clinic. “I am humbled to have been chosen by my patients to walk with them on their journey.”
