BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Navigating the criminal justice system can be confusing for first-time families, but there are advocates in East Baton Rouge who will help guide them every step of the way.

Reverend Alexis Anderson joined Fox 44 First Edition to discuss the one-year anniversary of the 19th JDC First Appearance Family Support Center.

Anderson said the center was created after seeing so many families appearing in the wrong courtroom, not knowing how long the court process takes and so many other issues.
