BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A Baton Rouge firefighter died on Saturday, Dec. 17 while on duty.
According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, Captain Walker L. Hill died after experiencing a medical emergency.
Hill has been a member of the BRFD since 1998 and has been promoted to Captain in 2017. During his service, he has received four life-saving awards, two fire service excellence citations, and helped deliver a baby.
The BRFD asks the public to keep Captain Hill’s family in their prayers.
Captain Hill’s funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced at a later time.
