Baton Rouge General welcomes back holiday tradition, with COVID-19 safety precautions

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD)- Baton Rouge General brought back their holiday light display, however this year adjustments have been made to follow COVID-19 mitigations.

Every year attendees can walk through a path surrounded by Christmas lights, due to social distancing the amount of people allowed to stroll will be limited.

An addition, the hospital has cancelled all family holiday events they host annually.

“Typically we do a much bigger celebration,” said Meghan Parrish, BRG Vice President of Marketing and Communication. “But we still wanted to celebrate in someway.”

The following BRG holiday events have been cancelled:

  • Weekly nights with Santa
  • Snow nights
  • Food trucks

The light display will be open till New Years Day nightly from 5:30 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Face mask are required to attend.
