BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Authorities arrested a Baton Rouge man on several counts of child porn and sexual abuse of an animal on Thursday.
On June 21, an East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office agent assigned to the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation reviewed a complaint from Instagram of two images believed to be child pornography, according to arrest documents. Through investigation, authorities found the post was uploaded on May 22.
Investigators identified the suspect as 23-year-old Travis Arseneault.
An affidavit said on July 7 there was another complaint from Instagram with two more images of child pornography and a complaint leading investigators to Arseneault’s Snapchat account.
Later, investigators found evidence on Snapchat of Arseneault allegedly soliciting young girls and having “inappropriate” conversations with them as well as sending them nude images of himself. Arrest documents said investigators found six videos of the sexual abuse of children and three videos including lewd contact between a juvenile and a dog. The affidavit stated that in messages Arseneault admitted to sexually abusing his dog.
Arseneault was arrested Thursday on six counts of pornography involving juveniles, five counts of computer-aided solicitation of a minor, and three counts of sexual abuse of an animal.
