BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – On Monday, November 22, deputies with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office arrived at the Burbank Substation.

A detective was subsequently asked to investigate a possible Armed Robbery involving an elderly man at the L’Auberge Casino.

After gathering information at the substation, the deputy went to the casino.

The affidavit states that the granddaughter of the the 80-year-old victim translated the testimony.

After spending five and half hours at the casino, the elderly victim proceeded to the valet ramp.

At some point, the 80-year-old victim felt someone trying to take his wallet.

That person is allegedly, 29-year-old Jakyre Foreman, of Baton Rouge.

Foreman is accused of pushing the elderly man “against the glass windows and then onto the ground, all while trying to get his wallet,” according to the affidavit.

Foreman was seen walking towards the parking garage wearing a “hoodie-style jacket.”

Security at the casino stated that the 29-year-old had been in the casino eight days prior to this incident.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office obtained surveillance footage from the casino.

The surveillance footage from the casino shows what appears to be Jakyre Foreman committing the act mentioned above.

Further evidence gathered at the casino led the sheriff’s office to seek an arrest warrant for Foreman.

The affidavit states that Foreman is charged with Simple Battery of the Infirm and Attempted Simple Robbery.

Bond for Jakyre Foreman is set at $11,000.
