2BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A 39-year-old Baton Rouge man was sentenced to 175 months in federal prison on multiple drug charges.
According to U.S. Attorney Ronald Gathee, Courtney Clayton pled guilty in 2021 after narcotics conducted a months-long investigation of trafficking by Clayton. East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office agents performed a traffic stop on Clayton’s vehicle. Once stopped, agents found 1,172.48 grams of heroin, 103.5 grams of fentanyl, 676.5 dosage units of fentanyl, and 16 grams of cocaine in Clayton’s trunk.
U.S. District Judge Brian Jackson said that agents also found nearly $13,000 in cash and three cell phones in the glove box.
Clayton was sentenced to 175 months in federal prison and charged with possession with the intent to distribute heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine. Clayton was also sentenced to five years of supervised release after sentence.
