BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A total of $5.2 million from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will be headed to the Baton Rouge Metro Airport.

According to Senator Bill Cassidy, funding will be used to replace three existing passenger boarding bridges that are no longer serviceable at the airport.

“Having modern, efficient airports are essential for economic growth,” said Cassidy. “This funding from the infrastructure law will help bring jobs and outside investment to Baton Rouge.”

These aren’t the only improvements coming to Baton Rouge airport. In December, local leaders broke ground on a $113 million project. The investment made by Burrell Aviation aims to develop a hub for air cargo and other aviation-related activities, leaders previously said.
