BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The MLK Monument at City Plaza is being rededicated at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6.
“The monument was restored this year, made bright with new paint that matched the original colors,” according to the Baton Rouge Area Foundation.
These local dignitaries are expected to attend Tuesday’s rededication:
- Mayor Sharon Weston Broome
- Art Conservationist Susie Anders
- Baton Rouge Area Foundation Board Chair Bill Balhoff
- Restoration Committee Chair Virginia Noland
- Reverend Fred Jeff Smith
The MLK Monument was erected in 1997.
