BATON ROUGE, La. (BR Proud) — Baton Rouge native Tamara Green is launching her inaugural book, “You See My Glory Here’s My Story,” on Jan. 31.

Green said the date was chosen because it serves as an annual reminder of her life’s story. “On this day, I will also celebrate 20 years as a paraplegic,” Green told BR Proud.

Green is a disability advocate and Ms. Wheelchair Louisiana 2020. While being a full-time entrepreneur, her daily pledge is to bring awareness to mental health challenges. While living with a disability, Green encourages families to take control of their financial goals.

“During quarantine, I decided to turn my pain into purpose. With Covid and the passing of my stepdad (due to cancer), I needed an outlet,” Green said. “My goal with this project is to inspire and motivate everyone.”

As a wife, mother, business owner and author, Green said she believes anything is possible with faith.

No matter how bad our situations may feel, we have the inner power to overcome it.
