Baton Rouge police investigating fatal shooting on Harelson Street

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting on Harelson Street.

Authorities said the shooting occurred shortly after 10 a.m. Friday morning on the 2200 block of Harelson Street.

The victim was identified by police as 32-year-old Darryl Weber Jr.

The shooting was the result of an altercation between Weber, 25-year-old Charles Wade and another unnamed individual, according to BRPD. Police said during the argument Wade shot Weber.

Wade turned himself in to authorities, according to a news release from BRPD. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and faces a manslaughter charge.

BRPD said this is an ongoing investigation.
