BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Baton Rouge will honor its veterans with a week-long celebration starting on Sunday, Nov. 6.

Red Stick Veterans Week will begin with a free prayer and breakfast service at the Bethany Church in Baker.

Sunday – Free prayer and breakfast service

Located at the Bethany Church in Baker from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Monday –  Red Stick Veterans Week Kickoff

This free program will celebrate veterans, their families, and their service at the Galves Plaza at 10 a.m. Mayor-President Sharon Weston-Broome and HELIX Community Schools will host the event.

Tuesday – Art and Yoga

This free event will build esprit de corps among veterans and family members at the Capitol Park Museum. This event starts at 5 p.m.

Wednesday – Veterans Benefits and Career Fair 

This free event will take place at the Valdry Center for Philanthropy at Southern University from 10 a.m. to noon and will connect top-level employers with veterans and their families to career opportunities.

Thursday – “Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em”

McLavy Limited and Clay Young Enterprises will sponsor this free event at Don Juan’s Cigar Bar to allow veterans to relax. This event begins at 5 p.m.

Friday –  S.U. Cotillion Ballroom SU Army ROTC’s Dining Out and Veterans Gala 

 This event will commemorate the 75th Diamond Anniversary of Southern University Army ROTC and welcomes all veterans home from wars and conflicts. Tickets can be purchased here.

Saturday – Race Day

Registration for this event begins at 6 a.m. This day will be filled with activities including a block party and a battle run. The Jaguar Run begins at 8 a.m. at A.E. Mumford Stadium. Find registration and race information here.
