Baton Rouge Turkey Trot is back on Thanksgiving Day

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – A turkey run is scheduled for Thanksgiving Day in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Runners will have the chance to earn their turkey in the Baton Rouge Turkey Trot. The races start between 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. The Baton Rouge Turkey Trot will be at 368 Convention Street in Baton Rouge, La. The race includes a one-mile fun run and a 5K walk.

The 5K walk fee is $35.00 with a three dollar sign-up fee. The fee goes up to $45.00 after Monday, Nov. 22. The one-mile fun run begins at 7:30 a.m. The race fee is $25.00 with a two-dollar sign-up fee. The race fee goes up to $30.00 after Monday, Nov. 22.

The 5K walk and one-mile courses start and end on 4th Street at Convention Street in downtown Baton Rouge.  The one-mile course will turn around on Spanish Town Radd and return to the finish line. The 5K course will take runners around the State Capital and Arsenal Park before returning to the finish line. Click here for an online map.

The holiday tradition serves as a fundraiser for March of Dimes. During registration, runners can also make a donation.
