BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Deputies with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported shooting at a home early Thursday morning on Hollyridge Ave.

The sheriff’s office said a call came in from the victim around 1:15 a.m. The victim stated that “his live-in girlfriend of 21 years shot at him,” according to the affidavit.

The alleged shooter was identified as Lynn Golden, 58, of Baton Rouge. Golden and the victim were at the home when deputies arrived on the scene.

The affidavit states that an initial search of the home by deputies uncovered bullet “holes in the ceiling and an interior door.” There were no injuries related to this shooting.

The victim claimed that things went downhill on Thursday morning after returning home from a night out.

Golden is accused of engaging in a verbal altercation with the victim and then arming herself with a revolver.

The Baton Rouge woman allegedly shot the weapon three times in two different areas of the home “with the specific intent to kill,” according to the affidavit.

EBRSO said the weapon used in this shooting was not located during the investigation.

Golden was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Thursday, Aug. 4 and charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder and Obstruction Of Justice.
