BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Tierra Smith, 28, of Baton Rouge, was arrested after members of the Baton Rouge Police Department were called to a complaint on Madison Ave.

The complaint came in around 8:50 p.m. on Friday, September 2, and centered around “several subjects standing in front of a residence armed with a rifle and handguns,” according to the affidavit.

Officers saw two people hanging out by a car when they arrived at the scene.

One unidentified person was taken into custody and officers then proceeded to speak with Smith.

Smith was in possession of a weapon and a BRPD officer took that weapon from the Baton Rouge woman.

The officer “reached into Smith’s left shorts pocket and retrieved a loaded ‘Millennium PT11 G2 9mm handgun,” according to the affidavit.

Smith was then arrested and asked if the vehicle could be searched by law enforcement.

The BR woman consented to the search of her vehicle and these items were seized by an officer:

  • Clear baggie of suspected marijuana (4 grams)
  • 1 digital scale
  • 1 pill bottle containing suspected Amphetamine/Dextroampheta (Schedule II)
  • 1 black book bag containing a stolen Glock 17 9mm with an extended magazine
  • Clear baggie containing 15-Glock switched and 2-rifle auto sears
  • 2 empty rifle magazines
  • 1 vertical handle

Another weapon was found outside the vehicle during the search.

Smith was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Friday, September 3.

The 28-year-old is charged with the crimes listed below:

  • Illegal Possession Of Stolen Firearms
  • Illegal Carrying Of Weapon
  • Illegal Carrying of Weapons (with CDS)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Schedule II

Everything seized during this investigation was submitted as evidence in this case.
