BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The zoo has reopened after experiencing an electrical outage late Thursday.
On Thursday, March 3, The Baton Rouge Zoo said it will be closed temporarily due to a construction issue on its Facebook page and website.
According to its website, the zoo will be beginning Phase 1 of its “reinvention” master plans, telling zoo enthusiasts that some areas of the zoo will be loud and temporarily inaccessible. The zoo also said that some of its animals may be off exhibit for some time too.
Although some animals won’t be seen by zoo guests, that doesn’t mean they won’t get attention.
“But, don’t fret… we love the animals behind the scenes just as much!” the zoo said on its website.
To find out when Baton Rouge Zoo will be reopened, the zoo asks people to “stay tuned” to its website and social media for updates. To check for zoo reopening updates, click here.
