BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The BREC Baton Rouge Zoo will celebrate the Zoo’s 53rd birthday on April 1 and 2 with Zippity Zoo Fest.

According to a press release from the zoo, the Zippity Zoo Fest features a children’s village with inflatables, food trucks, families, photo opportunities, cake, face painting, and more.

“Zippity Zoo Fest is one event that’s particularly near and dear to the Zoo,” said Jim Fleshman, Zoo Director. “Not only does it provide the perfect atmosphere for children and their parents to shake off their cabin fever, but it allows all of us to celebrate the many years of connecting people with wildlife and wild places since the Zoo opened on Easter Sunday 1970.”

Admissions will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regular admission applies and is free for members. The zoo closes at 6 p.m.
