BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A 19-year-old student was arrested after being accused of having 20 files of child pornography.
According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, on Oct. 6, 2023, investigators received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) about multiple photos and videos containing pornographic content of children under the age of 13.
On Sept. 22, 2023, Dropbox, a software company that stores data, reported an account uploaded inappropriate videos and photos, according to arrest documents.
After a search warrant was granted, investigators contacted internet services connected to the account, and the account was traced to a home in Baton Rouge, arrest documents report. A 42-year-old mother is the listed owner of the home. The mother has two children, one being Damien Crandle, 19.
Investigators searched through the email account associated with the inappropriate content, where they reportedly found a folder. Inside the folder, investigators found files that belonged to someone named “Damien.” After finding more evidence, investigators were able to identify the account holder as Crandle.
After searching the Dropbox account, investigators found 16 videos and photos of pornography and a subfolder labeled “teens.” In the subfolder, 20 videos and photos were found of children performing sexual acts.
Crandle was arrested and charged with 20 counts of pornography involving juveniles.
