BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office arrested four suspects and is looking for two after a drug bust in Baton Rouge.

Over the last two months, detectives investigated a drug trafficking operation in the Baton Rouge area. Cedrick Kelly Sr., 42, is accused of being the leader of the drug ring. Agents bought fentanyl from the drug trafficking group multiple times and captured video of the sale. Search warrants were given for eight buildings and vehicles.

On Wednesday, Aug. 9, detectives performed the search warrants and the following items were seized:

  • 3.7 pounds of suspected fentanyl
  • 50 dosage units of Xanax
  • 1/2 pound of marijuana
  • scales with fentanyl residue
  • $10,000
  • a shotgun
  • four handguns

Kelly was arrested and charged with three counts of distribution of schedule II drugs and resisting an officer.

Kendrick Carter, 46, was arrested and charged with four counts of distribution of schedule II drugs.

Jeremiah Morris, 41, was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute schedule IV drugs, possession with the intent to distribute schedule I drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Daryl Johnson, 62, was arrested on charges of possession of a machine gun and possession of a stolen firearm.

The following suspects are still at large:

John Beverly, 28, is wanted on charges of distribution of schedule II drugs, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic abuse, possession of a firearm with drugs, and drugs in the presence of a juvenile.

Reginald Kelly, 33, is wanted on charges of distribution of schedule II drugs.
