BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Crime is a big concern in the capital area. Baton Rouge leaders have created the Summer of Hope initiative to promote peace, create opportunities and spread joy throughout East Baton Rouge Parish. The theme for this year is “Peace Over Everything.”
Mayor Pro Tempore LaMont Cole will host the sixth annual Pedaling For Peace event on Friday, June 9 at 6 p.m. The ride will begin at Shoppers Value 5355 Government Street and move onto Howell Park and back to Shoppers Value.
Cole is asking the constituents of District 7 and others in the community to come out for a safe and good time. Baton Rouge police and other city leaders will join the ride.
Limited bikes will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
