BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A man and a woman were shot around 3 a.m. at the Quality Inn Baton Rouge East I-12 on Airline Highway, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.

Emergency medical services officials said one person was taken to the hospital and the other person fled the scene before crews arrived.

BRPD confirmed that the two shooting victims were expected to recover from their injuries. A motive and suspects are unknown at this time, police said.
