BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A Baton Rouge-based jewelry brand was recently featured in the British edition of Vogue magazine.
The jewelry brand Steward and James, owned by lead designer Ashley Dodge, was featured in the July edition of British Vogue.
Every summer British Vogue does a profile on jewelry designers showcasing up-and-coming designers and their brands, according to Dodge. She was alerted of the feature through email by one of British Vogue’s staff members.
“At first I thought it was spam. After some research and correspondence, I was able to confirm that it was real. They first reached out towards the end of May and spoke about the July issue. I tried not to think about it until I physically got the magazine in my hand. I didn’t want to jinx it. Once I received the official copy of the magazine, it really set it,” said Dodge.
Dodge has sold jewelry since 2020. The name Steward and James comes from Dodge’s grandfathers. Her jewelry is designed to be a piece that could be worn for either everyday use or for special occasions. The brand also offers wholesale options.
“I have been on cloud nine,” said Dodge. “To be a designer featured in Vogue has always been a dream of mine, much like any designer. I believe that this is just the beginning for Steward & James and I could not be more excited.
