BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Walk to Remember is the largest event in the Greater Baton Rouge area to raise awareness regarding Alzheimer’s disease and funds to support programs and services.

Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area is a local nonprofit organization providing education and support programs to those affected by Alzheimer’s disease or other memory-related impairments.

Alzheimer’s Services is not affiliated with a national organization so all funds raised remain in the 10-parish service area which includes Ascension, Assumption, East and West Baton Rouge, East and West Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee and St. Helena parishes.

The Alzheimer’s Services Walk to Remember will be at 8 a.m. Oct. 28 at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana located at 5525 Reitz Ave. in Baton Rouge.

LSU Baseball Coach Jay Johnson is the honorary chair of the event and will be joined by the baseball team to raise awareness.
