BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A juvenile is facing simple arson charges in connection to a vacant house fire on Eaton Street.

The Baton Rouge Fire Department said crews arrived at the 2800 block of Eaton St. Thursday morning and saw flames coming through the roof of a vacant home. Firefighters were able to stop the flames from spreading to nearby homes and contained the fire.

Investigators determined that the fire was intentionally set and apprehended a juvenile suspect, the fire department said. Crews responded to the same address on Sept. 20 and Sept. 21. Investigators are working to see if all the fires are connected.

Information about the investigation or the identity of the juvenile was not immediately available.

This is a developing story.
