BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — City leaders are inviting the community to a rally supporting Baton Rouge Police Department Chief Murphy Paul.

The “Stand With Chief Murphy Paul Rally” will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 2 at the Baton Rouge Police Department Headquarters. The rally will be hosted by Metropolitan Council members Cleve Dunn, Jr., Carolyn Coleman, Chauna Blanks, Darryl Hurst and Mayor Pro-Temp LaMont Cole.

The rally comes after a council member called for Paul’s resignation after his “unprofessional” behavior at a Metropolitan Council meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 27 while discussing the “Brave Cave” allegations.

BRPD headquarters is located at 9000 Airline Highway.
