BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Get ready for the first Front Yard Bike Bash fundraiser from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17. The community ride will raise funds for Front Yard Bikes, a Baton Rouge nonprofit.

“Front Yard Bikes is a really special gem in Baton Rouge that is doing amazing things far and above just bike programming,” said Danielle Satawa, Front Yard Bikes board member and CFO of presenting sponsor Shoppers Value. “They’re providing these kids with a safe space to go to after school and during the summer and teaching them mechanical, gardening and welding skills as well as providing tutoring, mentorship and academic accountability in a way that truly resonates with them.”

The event will kick off at the BREC Botanical Gardens at Independence Park. According to a news release from Front Yard Bikes, the ride will go through Mid City and make a brief stop at the Government Street location for snacks and tune-ups before heading back to the Botanical Gardens for food and music and the afterparty.
