BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Louisiana Department of Insurance (LDI) has collaborated with Southern University, the Spencer Educational Foundation and the Alliant Insurance Foundation to create a new insurance degree program at the school.
“The addition of an accredited insurance degree program at Southern University will expand opportunities for minorities in Louisiana, who are underrepresented in our state’s insurance industry,” said Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon.
LDI and other organizations are investing $1.4 million to the Southern University System across a three-year period for the development of an accredited School of Insurance degree program, according to a release.
