BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — An arrest was made in connection to a Monday morning shooting killing a 23-year-old near a BREC park.
Officers responded to the shooting in the 4100 block of Geronimo Street at 5:14 a.m. after a Shot Spotter activation for 16 shots fired.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said Larry Pearl, 27, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon. The victim, Joseph Wilson, was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries.
An affidavit noted that Pearl has previously been arrested on gun and drug charges.
An investigation is ongoing.
