BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department responded to a shooting at the intersection of Staring Lane and Chandler Drive around 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12.
According to BRPD, a Lyft driver was picking up a man to take him to work when an unknown man ran up and shot multiple times. The victim was reportedly shot in the lower extremities and upper shoulder area.
Police said the Lyft driver took the victim to a nearby hospital and he is expected to recover from his injuries.
The shooter fled the scene, BRPD said. A motive and suspect are not known at this time.
