BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — After a couple of years, a new plant-based restaurant is ready to open its doors to the public.

The Plantry Café is an upscale plant-based eatery that serves gluten-free lunch meals created by Baton Rouge native and physician Katie Crifasi.

Crifasi said the restaurant focuses on making a custom experience for business functions and semi-private dining. Meal prep, catering and to-go options will also be available.

The healthy eatery is expected to begin serving lunch beginning the week of Oct. 9. The hours of operation are 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for lunch Monday through Friday. After the opening week, the Plantry Café will expand its offerings to include wine tastings on Fridays and high tea on Sundays.

“Plantry was created because Baton Rouge didn’t have anything like it regarding the option for an entire menu that provided clean eating, organic wines, and tea-infused cocktails to complement an elegant high tea service,” said Crifasi.

The new restaurant is located at 5454 Bluebonnet Blvd., Suite B.
