UPDATE – The three victims were identified as 76-year-old Johnny Duncan, 67-year-old Mary Fox, and 48-year-old Jennifer Pate of Baton Rouge, according to the Louisiana State Police.
During the investigation by LPS, it was discovered that Duncan was driving a 2008 Dodge Ram headed west in an eastbound lane on LA 408 and Fox was driving east on LA 408 in a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado, according to LPS.
Duncan struck Fox’s vehicle head-on and exited the roadway into the media. The collision caused Fox to spin, at which point a 1999 Dodge Ram struck Fox. During the investigation, it was discovered that Duncan was not restrained at the time of the crash.
All three victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
The crash still remains under investigation.
ORIGINAL – BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Baton Rouge emergency medical services responded to a deadly crash Friday morning.
EMS said that three people died in a crash that involved three vehicles in the 7300 block of Hooper Road. Emergency responders were called to the scene around 9:45 a.m.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner was called to the scene, according to EMS.
Information about the identity of the victims or how the crash happened was not immediately available.
