Owner of Ruth’s Chris, Tio Javi’s buys former furniture store building in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The owner of Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and Tio Javi’s Mexican Grill purchased a nearby furniture rental building.

The former furniture rental company, CORT Furniture outlet, has sold its Baton Rouge business on Constitution Avenue to BB Prime Property LLC. Christopher Bachman and Carlos Betancourt, Jr. are registered officers of BB Prime Property LLC.

CORT sold the business to Bachman for just over $2.5 million. The 21,000-square-foot building features a retail showroom, office spaces, and a warehouse, according to the listing. The building sits in between Ruth’s Chris and Tio Javi’s in the 4700 block of Constitution Avenue.

Bachman bought Ruth’s Chris in 2015 and Tio Javi’s in November 2017.

The future plans for the newly purchased building have not been announced.
