BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Gordan McKernan has signed a Southern University football player to a name, image and likeness (NIL) deal.
In a social media post, McKernan announced that Harold Blood, a Southern University quarterback, was added to the “G Team.” Blood is the first Southern University student-athlete to sign a deal with McKernan.
“I’m excited to partner with a man that’s known for giving back. I’m looking forward to using our partnership to give back to Baton Rouge and other Southern University student-athletes,” Blood said in the post.
“We are honored to support SU Athletics and can’t wait to cheer Harold and the team on as they Get It Done this season,” McKernan said.
McKernan also has deals with student-athletes from LSU, the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and Louisiana Tech.
The Jaguars are expected to play their season opener against Alabama State at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2 in Montgomery, AL.
