BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Burn some calories off before you eat during your Thanksgiving feast and participate in the Baton Rouge Turkey Trot that will be held on Thursday Nov. 23.

The annual Thanksgiving Day 5K and 1-mile fun run is in its 37th year. According to the Baton Rouge Turkey Trot’s website, the event’s proceeds go towards the March for Dimes.

Both will start and finish on 4th Street at Convention Street in downtown Baton Rouge. The event’s website shows time limits for both races, including a 30-minute course limit for the one-mile fun run and a 90-minute time frame for the 5K race.

Those who sign up to participate in this year’s race can pick up their pre-race packets at Dick’s Sporting Goods, 9330 Mall of Louisiana Blvd., from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22.

The 5K race is $40, and the one-mile fun run and walk is $30, starting Monday, Nov. 20.
