NAPOLEONVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) – A Belle Rose man was arrested after causing a disturbance at a local community center and throwing beer at deputies.

The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) says they were called to the Community Center in Napoleonville to break up a large crowd. A fight broke out between two individuals and deputies intervened.

The suspect, 23-year-old Ashton Trevon Johnson, allegedly threw a beer can during the disturbance, hitting a deputy in the forehead and sprayed beer on other deputies.

Johnson resisted as he was confronted by deputies, APSO says.

He was arrested, transported and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center. He faces the following charges:

  • Two counts of Resisting Arrest by Force or Violence
  • Battery Upon a Police Officer
  • Disturbing the Peace – Appearing in Public in an Intoxicated Condition

APSO says Johnson was released after posting $50,000 commercial bond.
