DONALDSONVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) – Macarthur Williams Jr., 53, of Donaldsonville was killed while riding his bike on LA 1. The deadly crash happened around 1:30 a.m. on Monday, May 1.
Prior to the crash, “Williams was riding his bicycle along the fog line as he was headed north
on LA 1,” according to the Louisiana State Police. LSP said that a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado was also heading in the same direction when it hit the bicycle from behind.
Williams died at the crash scene. According to the Louisiana State Police, “Williams was wearing dark clothing without a helmet, and had no lights on his bicycle.”
The person who was driving the Silverado did not sustain any injuries. LSP did get toxicology samples from Williams and the driver of the Silverado.
The investigation into this deadly crash remains ongoing.
