BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Blood and plasma donations are needed in the wake of Hurricane Ida.

LifeShare Blood Center in Baton Rouge is asking potential donors at their center at 5745 Essen Lane, Suite 100, or at their mobile donation locations.

“Even in the worst weather conditions, our communities are still depending on life-saving blood donations. It is imperative that the blood supply in Baton Rouge remains strong, especially considering the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic” said LifeShare Blood Center’s Director of Marketing & Communications, Kourtney Washington.

LifeShare said donors should be in good health, at least 110lbs, and 17 years old.
