BATON ROUGE- East Baton Rouge Coroner Beau Clark has announced that a body found off Rosedale Road in Grosse Tete has been positively identified as that of missing Baton Rouge teacher Lyntell Washington.

Police had been searching for Washington since late last week.  Baton Rouge police detectives had learned Washington and Roberte Jovantie Marks were in a romantic relationship and that she was pregnant with his child.  Detectives also learned Marks took Washington’s 3-year-old daughter for a ride the night of June 8th and left her unattended in a parking lot.

Marks was arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping of a child and child desertion.  It’s not known at this time if he will be charged in connection with Washington’s death.
