BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office (EBRSO) and Bristol Place Apartments are working together to solve the recent overnight burglaries that took place on Thursday in parking lots off of Siegen Lane.
The sheriff’s office says that around 35 cars were forcefully broken into, and firearms were stolen. The robberies happened between 2 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. The suspects allegedly broke windows to steal the firearms.
The cars that were broken into were located at the following hotels and apartments:
- LaQuinta Inn on Rieger Road
- Holiday Inn at Siegen Holiday Circle
- Bristol Place Apartments at Siegen Lane
- Residence Inn at Commerce Circle
Elizabeth Stodolka, a communications specialist for Bristol Place Apartments, was very concerned about the robberies.
Sodolka said in a statement:
“We are disappointed by the burglaries that occurred last night at our community and nearby businesses. We sympathize with our residents who were affected by the incident, and we are cooperating with the police in their investigation. In light of the situation, we will be increasing our security patrols within our community.
