BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A woman has been charged with domestic abuse battery after she allegedly attacked the victim and drove into their mailbox.

On Friday, 21-year-old Delitha Holmes parked her car in the 1300 block of Queen Cathy Drive and began punching the victim. She then backed into a mailbox and drove off, according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office interviewed the victim and learned that the victim and Holmes used to be involved in a sexual relationship and had a baby together. The victim told deputies that Holmes had thrown a drink at his face in a club earlier before waiting for him to arrive at Queen Cathy Drive.

Deputies made contact with Holmes who told them that she and the victim had gotten into an argument over their relationship at a gas station and that the victim left the gas station and headed to Queen Cathy Drive. Holmes told deputies that the reason she followed the victim was to continue the conversation but didn’t remember what happened after she arrived.

Deputies arrested Holmes and charged her with hit and run and domestic abuse battery.
