Huntington’s disease awareness walk set for Saturday

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – Louisiana families, neighbors and friends will walk together to support the lives that have been affected by Huntington’s disease.

The Huntington’s Disease Society of America Louisiana Affiliate is hosting a Team Hope Walk for Saturday, Sept. 25 at Highland Rd. Park’s Grand Pavilion starting at 9 a.m. The pavilion is located at 14024 Highland Rd. in Baton Rouge.

A COVID-19 survey form is required to be filled out 24 hours before the walk. All participants are required to sign a waiver and must adhere to social distancing guidelines. Masks are required for the walk.

All donations from the walk will go to HDSA, which is nearly halfway to it’s $16,050 goal.

Huntington’s disease is a fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells
in the brain, deteriorating a person’s physical and mental abilities usually during their prime working
years. The disease has no cure.
