BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD)- Baton Rouge Community College’s Workforce Solutions Division will host the “Get Ready to Skill Up” summit for job seekers interested in learning about a variety of short-term training programs offered by the college, along with scholarship opportunities that are available for eligible individuals on June 15 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Those attending the summit will have the opportunity to observe workforce training opportunities, get hands-on and virtual demonstrations, tour of the state-of-the-art workforce labs, engage with BRCC skills experts and industry leaders regarding career pathways, and also meet graduates from the BRCC workforce programs who are currently working in the industry.
“We are looking forward to engaging with prospective students and introducing them to all the possibilities they have before them through the BRCC Workforce Solutions Division,” said Dr. Girard Melancon, BRCC vice chancellor for workforce solutions. “We have numerous short-term training programs that can assist individuals in gaining new skills or updating their existing skills quickly, helping them become employable for available, high-demand jobs.”
Some of the short-term training programs that will be featured at the summit includes:
- Medical Billing and Coding
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
- Pharmacy Technician
- Pipefitting Level 1
- Painting and Refinishing Collision repair
- Certified Diesel Engines
- and more
The summit will be held at the BRCC Acadian Campus, 3250 North Acadian Thruway. It is open to the public and individuals can register online at mybrcc.edu/skillsummit.
