Breaux Bridge man arrested after sending explicit messages, videos to sheriff’s office

ST. MARTINVILLE, La (BRPROUD) – St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Breaux Bridge man following an investigation where deputies received sexually explicit messages and videos.

Sheriff Becket Breaux said that on Friday, Nov. 19 the sheriff’s office received sexually explicit private messages, videos and photos from a male on their Facebook page. An investigation began and resulted in a warrant being obtained. On Tuesday, Nov. 23, deputies arrested 28-year-old Roy Sturgis and took him to St. Martin Parish Correctional Center where he was booked with an obscenity charge.

No bond had been set yet.

“Although we encourage interaction from the public on our Facebook, please note that this type of communication will not be tolerated,” Breaux said in a press release.
